This album is very good, and not many artist/bands do better on their second album, but The Wallflowers pulled it. Great Album.

    album of the 90's?

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 14, 2000

Wallflowers "Bringing Down the Horse" could arguably be the best album of the 90's. You could argue maybe "Nevermind" by Nirvana,or possibly a number of Pearl Jam albums, Maybe some U2, but other than that they are up there with the best of them. Oh..., and just for the record, BOB Dylan is the best songwriter that ever lived. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!! Read more Less

    killer disk

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 11, 2000

I borrowed this disk from a friend back in '96 and I went and bought a copy for myself before I gave it back to him. My favorite song on it is "I wish I felt nothing". It so haunting and he I think it sounds like a song that Bob could have wrote and... sung himself. Every song is awsome and I plan to buy "Breach" very soon. Read more Less

What an album! Need I say more?

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 25, 2000

This album is not just outstanding, it is the basis of good music. I wish it was as recognised as other great albums such as Black Crowes 'Shake your money maker' or Matchbox 20's 'Yourself or someone like you'! The lyrics for the most part are outs...tanding, but if they arent, the tunes are fab. Check it out, and the other 2 I mentioned!!!! Laterz! Read more Less

    Amazing

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 19, 2000

The Dylan's must be the most talented family this side of Lennonsville. Jakob writes heartfelt songs that Barry White couldn't touch. Angel on my bike is a great song, but the version on the One Headlight single was far superior, otherwise this albu...m could be freewheelin all the way to perhaps one of the top three albums ever written. One of the best of the 90s...

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 7, 2000

Ironically, while working at my college station, I got "Bringing Down the Horse" for free. Little did I know that within the next few months, this cd would become an all-time favorite of mine, nor did I know I'd meet two of the Wallflowers! (yes, th...ey opened for Sheryl Crow and were not extremely popular yet...it was right before "One Headlight" broke loose...) Anyways, "Bringing Down the Horse" is one of the five best CDs of the 90s. Every song is great...my absolute favorite is "Bleeders"...but "Sixth Avenue Heartache," "Invisible City," and "I Wish I Felt Nothing" are not far behind. This is a CD that people of all different types enjoy. Jakob Dylan has the musical talent of his father with a better voice and lyrics that hit today's generation. A++! Read more Less
