Religious Zealots, take note:
Pros: Great cast, great plot
Cons: zealots won't get it
This is a great film, very provacative. For those of you who are zealots, know one thing: There is more reality here than you are capable of seeing. Open your eyes and mind and realize that people are people, humans just like you even if your ideas aren't professed. Who died and made you "God"??

Pros: Awesome cast, intelligent dialouge, an awesome mix of deep religious thoughts and hillariousness!
Cons: Nothing really
Let me say here and now that I am a practicing christian. With that out of the way let me say how much I love this movie. Critics can say whjat they want about this movie, and so can conservitives, but I think I speak for all Kevin Smith fans out there, whne I say this is definately one his funniest movies! Bought now.

being one who beleves in spirit & not so much religion,I enjoyed this "uncontrol freek" Way of presenting a "Heavy subject matter"movie.I hope to see d2.. Great movie B.C. returns and he aint happy with the message error. Great movie too bad there is only 5 stars available it needs a planet systems worth. thank you.

This movie has it all: Comedy, weighty Drama, Action, and it brings up some of the most valid theological points you have Never thought about. Being a very big Spiritualist, theologian, and even former youth director, i found nothing offensive about it. It tops my list of fav. flicks. Anyone with basic Homo Sapien level intelligence should enjoy it. Affleck and Damon's best!

Dogma is one of my favorite movies of all time. It pokes fun at religion, but you can enjoy it even if you are extremely religious. Kevin Smith makes another great movie, with witty comedy and lots of laughs. 5 stars

I'm always surprised when someone hasn't enjoyed this. It was my introduction to Kevin Smith and I couldn't have asked for a better one. Several fans criticised it compared to Clerks but maybe I just didn't get that one. Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Alan Rickman, Chris Rock and Linda Fiorentino give superb performances. Jay and Silent Bob (Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith) are hilarious. I only wish I had a fraction of Smith's talent

Even though I haven't seen the Special Edition, I doubt it has anything that would increase my score for this movie. I wasn't offended by it, because I'm not very religious, but it seemed to me that if you aren't religious, this movie would be somewhat hard to follow. I was completely lost for the first 45 minutes or so. What's more, is that since most of the characters are supernatural, I found it difficult to relate to them. There were some pretty funny spots, but overall, this movie isn't really worth owning. Seeing once, or maybe even twice, sure, but I wouldn't buy it. Wait, I wouldn't buy it brand new.

Kevin Smith has worked his wonders again. Although I haven't seen any of his other movies. Dogma is pure comedy, although some people might object to it, if you can get past the religious humor than you can truly admire this movie. I don't have the special edition but this movie is defenently worth adding to your collection.
