Songwriter Guy Wood wrote the standards "Shoo-Fly Pie and Apple Pan Pandy" and "Till Then." The Manchester, England native started his music career playing sax in dance bands. In the early '30s, Wood moved to the U.S., getting jobs with the foreign production departments of Paramount Pictures and Columbia Pictures. In the late '30s and early '40s, he was a bandleader at New York's Arcadia Ballroom. One of Wood's songs, "Till Then" was a three-time pop hit: a 1944 number eight hit for the Mills...
