Although it follows the basic design of earlier console games in Natsume's farmsim series, Another Wonderful Life brings a few changes to the rural world of Harvest Moon. Players can take the role of a young woman (instead of a male character), and look towards starting a family as they court one of the nearby town's eligible bachelors. The game is broken into six distinct chapters, which represent stages in the main character's life. Each of these chapters features lots of familiar, freeform farm life gameplay, however, as players must choose, plant, and tend their crops, care for their animals, and improve their properties if they hope to truly lead a Another Wonderful Life. This GameCube edition of Harvest Moon can be connected to its GBA companion release, More Friends of Mineral Town, through a link cable, to unlock special features. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide

    Another Wonderful Review

By Krysten  Jun 21, 2005 | 5 out of 6 found this Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life review helpful

Pros: Great idea, finally a girl's view, romantic scenes, great graphics, lovely sound.

Cons: Everything's happy! Too happy... nothing bad happens. Ever.

I think this game is great for girls. We finally get to marry a guy! They also added new features like dog training and even a seperate pen for chickens and ducks! But unfortunetly game play is the same as the guy version. In the middle of the second... year it gets boring. Natsume did one up, he made all the scenes more romantic to better fit the view of a feminine player. Overall, I rate this a 4. Read more Less

    Harvet Moon: Another Wonderful Game

By Carrie  Apr 14, 2007 | 1 out of 1 found this Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life review helpful

Pros: It's awesome, to see Forget-Me-Not Valley's point of veiw in a feminine way. Having the abilities to charm the ideal man of your dreams (at least in the game) is better then having to work your way into the heart of a woman when you are a woman like in the first version of the game. I loved it!

Cons: The graphics are so charming, but a tiny bit TOO charming. Everything's just so perfect and cutesy, even at nighttime. You can only parent a boy child, just like the beginning version, and there's only a limit of three men to work with. It's hard to get everything done in one day, like planting & watering, cooking, fishing, animal tending, flirting, and making extra money on the side (unless you already know the secert cheat to become a filthy rich girl). There's hardly anytime to just walk around and enjoy the valley.

I absolutely LOVE how realistic and fictional this game is. Ever since I rented the first version, I've been following the chapters, even though I've never beat either game. There's always hours of stuff to do, keeping you fully busy and ...entertained. The graphics ARE adorable but the villagers are all so made-up and deformed and follow the same route around town everyday (I'm not a stalker though!) Becoming a responsible farmer and being able to love everything from your freetime (if you get any) to your crops, and your animals to your new baby boy and husband takes a little patience to get used to but eventually everyone finds their own pace and falls into line with a well-maintained schedule. But even for those people who HAVE to play this game perfectly, without offending neighbors, killing their livestock, become dead-out poor, ugly crops, parenting a miserable son... it will eventually happen... but then again maybe it won't. L.O.L! Just keep plugging and don't worry about mess ups. Overall this is the greatest game on earth (whatevers out there on Mars, I don't know. L.O.L!) and even when I stop playing it for a while and completely forget about it, it ends up drawing me back! Five stars! Read more Less
