    this is one of the funniest war pics that i've seen. the violent scenes aren't as gory as i would like them, but oh well. this is a great movie,...remember this movie.

    In my generation, I was brought up to believe that "Full Metal Jacket" was THE Vietnam movie. Channel surfing one night I happened on this movie on Encore. I was not disappointed. Stan Shaw and R. Lee Ermey (yes! He played a D.I. BEFORE FMJ, and he d...oes great) are standouts. Seems to me the film was trying to weave many things into the story: a faceless enemy, corrupt allies, spineless leaders, and an all around bum deal. And does it deliver? In my opinion, a resounding yes! I have only found this as either a laserdisc or a $50 VHS tape on the Web, so consider yourself lucky if you've found this excellent precursor to the more modern Vietnam movies. Great stuff.
